There are so many different things I want to do in life that many times I forget to place them on the list. This week, I was looking through some of the different sales on a variety of websites and found my way looking at information on birdwatching. This has been an interest of mine but I would like to spend more time with it because of my interest in birds, opportunities to get out in nature, and the challenge of wildlife photography.
For years, I have been interested in birds, but have never known very much about them. I would like to learn different species and migration patterns. I would also like to know how to attract a particular type of bird to my backyard. My interest in birds is enough for me to want to do more with bird watching.
Bird watching would also provide me the opportunity to get out in nature more. One of the key desires of mine is to get out of the house more. Bird watching, like railfanning, would get me out of the house more and enjoy some adventures in the process. When we lived in El Paso, there was a nearby State Park that had a bird watching area. There you could walk into a little shelter and observe the many different birds that would visit. Being out in the desert watching the birds was a wonderful experience and I would love to be able to do that more.
Birding would also add a challenge to my photography. I would love to be able to get out and photograph wonderful birding photos. The challenge to getting the right shot would be a great challenge to accept. This is another great reason that I would love to start bird watching.
While I may have to wait awhile until I have the time and resources to commit to the hobby of bird watching—it is still a hobby that appeals to me. I look forward to one day being able to take part in this hobby and check this item off my lifetime bucket list.
