“If you have two coats, give one away,” he said. “Do the same with your food.”–John the Baptist
When I was in Iraq, I traveled through Baghdad, looking out the window, seeing the people of Iraq edging forward to a society of security and peace. Now, the country is again struggling from war and oppression. People are forced to flee their homes and villages.
When people are refugees, many do not have enough food for the long term. They flood refugee camps looking for a bite to eat.
But hunger isn’t only a problem in faraway lands like Iraq. Hunger is an issue here in the United States as well. Hunger is an issue worldwide.
What will you do to help? The Bible teaches”If you have two coats, give one away”; Will you do the same for food?
I encourage you to give to Global Hunger Relief.
With Global Hunger Relief, 100% of the money given goes directly to feed hungry people. 20 cents of every dollar is used to support hunger projects in the United States. 80 cents is used internationally for direct hunger ministry as well as water well drilling, agricultural education, water purification, etc. This is all possible because the administrative costs are already in place through the gifts given from Southern Baptist Churches. It is amazingly brilliant and efficient.
So if the Global Hunger Crisis seems overwhelming, there is a opportunity already available–all you must do is to give and take part in the solution.
