I read an article from my wife on dailydwelling.com which she wrote in 2009, where she discusses her reminder the she is not alone. Her post was written during my second deployment to Iraq and she was in Germany with the family of two three year olds and a one year old.
In her post she wrote:
“I don’t have to do anything alone.
Why is it so easy to forget this simple fact?
I am not alone.
I do not have to go through my day alone.
I do not have to take care of sick children alone.
I do not have to discipline my children alone.
I don’t have to do any of it alone.
I have a God who is willing to, in fact, who wants to be with me in this journey.”
A thousand miles away, while she was going through quite a trial–I was on a combat patrol. She knew that. I hadn’t called like I usually do because I was incredibly busy with my work, out somewhere in Iraq, and unable to reach a phone.
I’m sure she did feel alone.
I praise God that I have such a spiritual wife–a wife that can stop and listen to God. I praise God for being a God who answers.
I encourage you to read her post and others from that time and remember that you are not alone.
