Olive Oil Ice Cream was a treat I never expected to have, much less love, but that is exactly what I discovered at First Taste Olive Oils and Vinegars. Monica and I enjoyed a dinner at “First Taste” this weekend and had a wonderful meal. We began our dinner with “Warm Bruschetta” as we waited for our freshly prepared entre. After we enjoyed the gourmet entre of “Plantain Gnocchi and Short Rib Ragu” for Monica and “Stuffed Chicken” for myself, we capped off the dinner with a desert of a selection olive oil ice cream.
“First Taste” is located along the historic Cherokee Street in downtown Leavenworth. The street is now known for its proximity to the weekly Farmer’s Market in the Summertime. But, there are a growing number of local shops opening along the street as well. In the early days of Leavenworth, Cherokee Street was a major avenue of the Leavenworth economy.
Inside the door of “First Taste” is the original brick walls and tin ceiling decor that adds a rustic and nostalgic atmosphere to the store and the restaurant. The restaurant rests in the back of the store, while the front part of the the store is dedicated to the main business of selling specialty olive oils and vinegars. Walking through the store, is worth the visit itself.
Monica and I had a wonderful time during our visit to First Taste Olive Oils and Vinegars. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a nice quiet unique dining experience. For more information on First Taste, I would recommend going to their website as well as their Facebook Page which seems to be updated regularly.
