Enjoying a great week at home and spending time with the kids has encouraged me to look forward to our time in July when I am able to join them again.
Sunday was a great day of worship at Lenexa Baptist Church. The kids did not has AWANA scheduled for the evening, so we spent the afternoon together and into the night, finishing with our favorite family show America’s Funniest Videos.
Monday, Will and I took a trip to McDonalds where we enjoyed Big Mac meals and fun. Afterwards we took my truck next door for a wash. We had a good time since the weather was nice, we got out and did the washing at the wash rack instead of taking it through the tunnel.
On Tuesday, it was Jenny’s turn to join me a McDonalds for lunch. She enjoyed her Chicken Nuggets Happy Meal while I had the Grilled Chicken Sandwich. During our trip, we also stopped by Home Depot to decorate her new Fairy Garden. (More about this on Monica’s blog, dailydwelling.com)
Wednesday, Leavenworth experience record setting high temperature is the 80s. I was able to get a run in, take a walk with the kids, and just enjoy a slower pace of being home. In the late afternoon, Will took out his Nerf guns to enjoy a Nerf War with Elizabeth Anne. The warmth was a welcome relief from the cold weather of Korea.
Thursday was a quiet day. It was rainy in the morning, when I spent time writing and reading. However, as lunchtime approached, I was challenged to a Light Saber Dual with Will.
As I fly back to Korea, it is good to have these memories to take with me—even as I look forward to returning.
