This week began with me preaching on Sunday Morning and then going out to try out my new selfie-stick. It sounds kinda random, but our family takes a lot of photos together—but we are getting to big to fit in a selfie at arms length. One thing that Koreans have down is the art of the selfie—therefore, the selfie-sticks are everywhere, and cheap. But, I still had to try it out!
Monday, as I walked home, I walked over to the tennis court. I have not played in a while—actually about four or five years, except for a couple of times to take the girls. I took lessons in Virginia about the same time I was dialing in on my running. Looking back, it was a choice of how to spend my time. Getting to a tennis court was a challenge, especially one with a backboard. And, I needed and wanted to maintain and improve my running. I could not do both, so I slowly focused more energy on running and less on tennis. The same was true with El Paso and Fort Leavenworth. But, our next house is within walking distance from the Fort Bliss Tennis Club—this may be the opportunity to begin playing along with the kids, who are also five years older than when they had lessons.
Wednesday morning was Will’s Tenth birthday! Actually, it gets confusing. May 23 is his birthday, but being in different time zones, we celebrated on Wednesday Morning for me. I enjoyed being able to watch him receive his birthday cake!
Thursday, I woke up to a nice morning for writing. I have been writing four pages a day in my journal and getting up early to do this. This has given me a strong start to each day!
Today, I enjoyed walking around Seoul and even took in some railfanning time. On the train back to Uijeongbu, I spotted the Korail 4417 locomotive in the yard. I stopped to take photos, but never was able to see it move. I waited for about an hour before the crew, locked up the cab and went home.
You cannot knock starting the week with a selfie-stick and ending with a train photo. It was a pretty good week for snapshots!
