Our world is changing at an incredibly fast rate. It is hard to keep up, but at the same time, if you stop you will notice what was once popular returns to popularity.
Take the case of the instant camera. The last instant camera Monica and I owned, we finally got rid of a couple of years ago. It was a Polaroid Instant Camera that we could no longer find film to put in the camera anymore as Polaroid when bankrupt soon after. Fast forward to now, Monica has another instant camera. This one is made by Fuji. The concept is the same—the technology is essentially the same. The decade of use is not. There remains a demand for instant photos.
The challenge in this every changing sometimes looping environment is to stay the course. It easy to be pressured to find greener pastures and to start new projects. But, we must stay the course on our passions and our expertise.
I was told by one of our KATUSA Soldiers that the literal definition of the word Ninja is “man of patience.” To me, the definition makes sense. But, the principle is so important! We must focus our attention on being Ninjas—men of patience. It is important to not miss opportunities, but it is equally important to be patient with what you are known for. And as you are patient, you refine, you make it better, you find better ways to communicate your idea. All the while holding true to your passions and identity.
