Recently, I have been able to compile all of my previous blogs in one place. So I put them all together here so that you may read all of them.
My first blog was on Open Diary and was called “The Musical Mantis” and I started it in Iraq, during June of 2006. The entries from there are simple and detail some of life in Iraq. The blog closed with the entry “Typining is hard” after which I began a new one at  WordPress.com. The new blog, called “Scribbles”, eventually evolved into a blog called “Newsprint and Silly Putty”.
While writing “Scribbles”, the goal was to publish something daily. I began to notice that many of my posts discussed comic books. Isoon decided that comic books provided a good choice for a overall niche topic; “there was nothing about religion nor the Army.” Therefore, when the name changed to “Newsprint and Silly Putty”, I removed all of the “Scribbles” entries that did not include comic books. I saved the non-comic book ones and now those original “Scribbles” titles are here from the post titled “Scribbles” to the post titled “Use RSS”.Â
The “Newsprint and Silly Putty” blog became Comic Book Day after I went to my own URL. Comic Book Day includes all of those posts there. “Newsprint and Silly Putty” was a major effort for me and motivated me to expand that blog to its own URL.  “Newsprint and Silly Putty” accumulated over 12,000 hits over the nine months it existed. It’s success also showed me that chaplainandrews.com need to be a place for me to express my thoughts on other topics. Â
I have learned much through trial and error and by watching others. I’m happy that they all can be read together now.
