Being a Chaplain means that my work is not done just because I’m at home. In some cases, it is just beginning. Right now, however, my focus is on returning my life to normal following 14 months away from family.
Last weeks morning were spent going from station to station getting all of my paperwork and health records straight. The reintegration process is spread over seven days to help return our lives to normal and remind us how to return for work on a daily basis.
That was last week. This morning, I woke up to a grueling PT (physical training) session which included a four mile run (estimated) and a crab walk up a hill. The fun filled PT was concluded with 50 side-straddle hops (jumping jacks), 100 over head arm claps, and 52 sit-ups. I will be hurting tomorrow to say the least.
This week is a week of ceremonies and honors for the fallen Soldiers.
My three weeks of leave are right around the corner.
