One of the top books that I have read in the last couple years has been the book called “Enchantment” by Guy Kawasaki. I’ve actually consumed the book twice…or maybe three times. I bought the audible.com version and have listened to it a couple of times as a review. “Enchantment” is an incredibly powerful book that I highly recommend.
Enchantment is Guy Kawasaki’s words is: “the process of delighting people with a product, service, organization, or idea. The outcome of enchantment is voluntary and long-lasting support that is mutually beneficial.” And the entire book sets out to make that kind of enchantment possible. The author has me enchanted about his book, so he did something right.
Through the book, I learned how to achieve likability through smiles, dress, and the words I use. I learned about achieving and maintaining trustworthiness. And I also learned how to be enchanting through and by technology. But, I learned much more than that. The principles of being enchanting are reflected in many areas of life and I am reminded often of what enchantment looks like as well as what it doesn’t look like. This is what makes the book so timeless. Yes, there are skills that Guy walks you through. And there are encouraging stories and examples. But, most of all I return to this book frequently because it reminds us how to truly enchant the world.
Again, I highly recommend Enchantment to everyone. It is a book that will be on my shelf as a reference and a reminder for years to come.
