Should we really post everything online?
I hope by now; we all understand that we shouldn’t.
Really. Shouldn’t.
Once upon a time, when the world was bigger and we were all innocent. It was a time when people lived their whole life online and displayed everything to the world. Then along came mobile and it was still fun and new. We know now that bullies, trolls, and just plain creepy people are everywhere. This is not to mention the criminals and the terrorist that want your information. This is also not mentioning the silly mistakes we make when we post something we shouldn’t.
We now live in a world that we must be careful.
We must choose our words carefully and edit those words more than ever before. Yes, we still have free speech and we should always support that. However, we must understand that those words that we may use may come with consequences that continue to resurface. Some of these words may hurt relationships and reputations. They may tear down bridges that took years to develop. These are the consequences of our words. We must be careful.
We must also be careful of our photo and locations. It is not wise to post the location of our homes. Nor is it wise to post photos (in my world) of different things that even might be sensitive. For instance, yes it may look cool—but do you want to take a photo of the airport security to help the terrorist plot against it? Just because it is cool doesn’t mean that you must take a photo and share it. As a matter of fact, the cooler it is, the less you should be taking a photo and sharing it.
The only point is this: be careful what you post. Think about every post’s implications. Have fun, but always be careful.

The rule is, “Don’t post or email anything you wouldn’t like splashed across the front page of a major newspaper no matter how private you think the message is.”
And remember, everything you post is permanent. Even services that promise to delete your post or photo after a certain time can’t guarantee that they can remove it without trace. Even if you delete something from social media it still exists somewhere online.
