Walking into my office this afternoon, I saw that during my absence, there was a large dust storm roll through. My desk was covered in a layer of dust, books, computers, and papers. It was a realization that I am back in Iraq.
I think about the dust and realize that there is much more than dust sitting around. I had a room full of packages to be distributed to Soldiers. And so much work to catch up on. I didn’t know I actually did that much work–until I saw everything that didn’t get done in the three weeks was gone.
So, it is back to work for me.  I have a PT test that I will be training for and a series of presentations to prepare the unit for redeployment.
I look forward to an interesting an rewarding final months here.
