This week has been a busy week of preparation for training on Thursday and just basic work throughout the times I was not focused on the training. I enjoy using the “Capture Your 365” Challenges, available from captureyour365.com as a way to make me thing a little more about what photos to take during the week. I typically post these on Instagram as they happen and would love for you to follow me! Because there is not much time or reason to leave Camp Red Cloud during the week, I have to be a little bit more creative about the photos I take, so the captureyour365.com prompts help me think about other things that may make my photos more interesting. Honestly, how many photos of the PX can you really see!
Monday’s topic for the day was “My Wall”. As you could imagine, I do not have much on my walls. What I do have is a canvas pocket display that I stole from our homeschool materials to insert art from the kids as they send it. I brought some with me and I look forward to adding to it during the year!
Tuesday’s topic was “jewelry”. I do not wear jewelry, except for my wedding ring. During my morning run, however, I wear my GPS watch during my running. I have actually begun wearing it more here than I ever did before because of the need to tell time in places that my cell phone cannot go.
Wednesday, I took a picture of “A Hobby”. That led me to take a photo of my hobby. It was followed by some enjoyable time reading the book that I brought with me.
Thursday was an opportunity to showcase a “Role”. The role I play in life right now, as an Army Chaplain, is as a Deputy Division Chaplain. Thursday, it gave me the opportunity to teach the Unit Ministry Teams about planning products for their upcoming exercise.
Today, Friday, I visited Camp Jackson to attend a graduation ceremony. I was struck by how beautiful the mountains were from this small post.
It has been a great week of work and I was able to show a little bit more of life while I am here in Korea.
