This weekend, I was looking at the settings of my favorite iPhone camera app, Camera+ , when I uncovered their link to instructional videos on a website called snapsnapsnap.photos. I like the site so much, I thought I would share it with you as this week’s Pick of the Week.
It seems as if everyone—and I know there are a few exceptions—carries a smartphone. And on every smartphone there is a camera. What isn’t so common are those that know how to use their cameras to the fullest. This is evident every time I see someone use their camera with a vertical orientation instead of horizontal or wide orientation—and it never makes sense, never. But with Camera+, the capabilities of the smart phone camera truly increases multiple times. The problem is, however, if you don’t already know what you are doing with the dials—it is best to leave them on automatic.
This is where the website and YouTube channel come in to play. Contained on both sites are several different short instruction videos explaining how to use the smart phone camera to its fullest. It looks like they add a new video about once a month. Several of the videos on the site include instruction on focus, exposure, and white balance. There are also videos on food photography and small product photography. These are great easily explained videos on how to enjoy your smart phone’s camera more and more.
I truly recommend watching these videos. As many photos that we all take with our smart phones—we might as well learn to take the best pictures with very little effort.
