This morning, the alternative pop band, “Walk Off The Earth“, released its new album “Sing It All Away” on iTunes. I had preordered the album, so I was first to hear it last night when it was ready!
I began paying attention to this band several months ago when I was watching YouTube videos and somehow ran across the “Walk Off The Earth” channel. The more I watched their videos, the more I became interested in them. Many of the videos that I watched were covers of other songs—which were great but still covers. I subscribed to the channel and began receiving updates as they produced new videos. I soon was introduced to their new album project and began searching for them on iTunes. On iTunes, I was able to see the several albums that had already been produced. I downloaded a couple of these, but I really have been waiting for the new album to come out.
The “Walk Off The Earth” sound is unique and enjoyable. I don’t frequently hear bands that actually sing as a band much. Many times, what I hear is a lead singer and a back-up band. One of the unique aspects about this band is that the lead singer depends on the song they are singing and the background vocals are truly apart of the song, which makes the total experience interesting and enjoyable. I enjoy the overarching positive tone of their songs and their upbeat rhythms. For the most part their lyrics are clean with one foul word that I was able to catch-so by today’s standards that’s pretty good.
So, as my pick of the week—”Walk Off The Earth” is a great band to get to know!
