When I was little, we would browse the Sears Christmas Catalog “Wish Book” nearly every day before Christmas. As we got older and Sears shifted their strategies around, I stopped the annual tradition. I’m happy to say that it is back! I found the current catalog online, as well as see that I can order a hard copy for my kids. And yes, they do deliver the catalog to APO addresses.

Did you know Top 40 radio DJ Casey Kasem played the voice of Shaggy in “Scooby Doo: Where Are You?” I just heard the familiar voice as my kids are getting their reward for cleaning their room this afternoon—some Scooby Doo Time.

I picked up a pair of JVC “Sport” Earphones yesterday at the PX—I haven’t tried them out, but I finally found a brand of ear phones that will stay on my ears when I run.

Monica wrote this week about our kids visit to see the USO Sesame Street Live at Ramstein Air Force Base. My kids get a little freaked out by costumed characters (ie. Santa, Easter Bunny, Bob the Builder, and Elmo). By shouldn’t they? On TV Elmo is half the size of an adult male—in person he is Eight Feet Tall—I’d be scared too!

I’ve worn the same glasses since I left the states. These glasses are getting worn—especially after a year in Iraq. But, I can’t get new glasses without a new prescription and if I get a prescription here then—I’ll get Army glasses which will be stronger than the ones I have. Then, I will have to wear Army Glasses until I leave. I think it is better to wait until I get back to the States so I can order from Lens Crafters.
