During my weekend travels, I spent the day exploring the “Rodeo Street” area. As I crossed the street from the mall, I first came in contact with a wonderful stature of a Korea houseman with his bow drawn back. The statue is a great entrance to an entertaining row of shops and restaurants.
As I traveled passed the statue and into the walk way, I discovered a festival setting up for the afternoon. I also found a small flower show taking place. I enjoyed seeing plants native to Korea and the pride that the presenters had for their flowers.
After spending some time walking through the little flower show, I travelled behind the platform to find a fountain full of children enjoying the water on a very hot and humid day. There were several other similar fountains along my walk that were equally full with children and parents cooling off in the water.
Throughout the walk ways were different statues. One set of white statues depicted the growth of two lovers in various stages of their happy relationship.
I enjoyed walking through the shops and stopping by the coffee shops that towered over the street below. I found a couple of nice places to visit when the winter comes, but also as reading spots on a lazy Saturday.
Being able to walk down this street was a nice way to become more and more acquainted with the nearby city. I look forward to finding other places in the city as I walk down the streets in search of new adventures.
