Over the past several days, I have watched the devastation in Japan. Thousands of lives were affected by the recent earthquake and subsequent tsunami.
Many are homeless and searching for food. Many others are mourning the loss of family members and friends. Entire towns are washed away.
During times like this, it is critical that we give to send to organization that can help. The time is now to send this help. The people of the effected areas of Japan desperately need shelter and food and water. While the waters are receding and the construction crews continue to dig through the rubble, the time is now to send money to assist in their search and to take care of those who did survive.
Pray for the people of Japan that they may be comforted during this time of trouble. Pray that many will stand up and send money to the support agencies and assistance will be brought to them. And pray for the safety of those that are going to help.

Samaritan’s Purse is a nondenominational evangelical Christian organization providing spiritual and physical aid to hurting people around the world. Since 1970, Samaritan’s Purse has helped meet needs of people who are victims of war, poverty, natural disasters, disease, and famine with the purpose of sharing God’s love through His Son, Jesus Christ.
Since its founding in 1881 by visionary leader Clara Barton, the American Red Cross has been the nation’s premier emergency response organization. As part of a worldwide movement that offers neutral humanitarian care to the victims of war, the American Red Cross distinguishes itself by also aiding victims of devastating natural disasters. Over the years, the organization has expanded its services, always with the aim of preventing and relieving suffering.
