To make this review very quick, one would just have to say that the book was good, and then it turned bad–for no reason at all.
There are times when I’m reading a comic I get really confused. Sometimes, this is because haven’t been reading comics long enough to know every character the may show up. Other times, however, there are stories come out of nowhere. This book is a classic example of this confusion that I have.
What is up with last page of this book? I think the idea is to show that this story was a “re-imaginary” story (whatever that means), as the cover suggests. But why did they throw in “The Great Confounding MXYZPTLK”? and then the producer? There are so many simpler, less distracting ways to tell the reader that this story should not be considered in the historical arguments of fans–because it was imaginary, it wasn’t “real”. Why did they do this confusing junk?
The whole thing kind of boggles my mind.
