After a long wait, the final issue of Superman: Secret Origin was delivered to my door. I think the trade-paperback will read much better—without the long delays between issues. Understandably, Geoff Johns has been a little busy lately.
Superman: Secret Origin did a great job of capturing the Superman story and refocus the readers on the basic story in the aftermath of the New Krypton story line on the DC Universe. It is a very good complement to the current ongoing Superman title which has Superman walking through America.
I like the way that DC is returning Superman to the roots of what is enjoyable about Superman—values, villains, and good story telling. We have seen enough of the crazy monster from outer space. Sometimes it is nice to simply read a good story. And that is what we have seen in the Superman: Secret Origin run. Hopefully, it is signaling a positive change for the Man of Steel.
