“You can never get a cup of tea large enough or a book long enough to suit me.” ? C.S. Lewis
I am convinced that I need to read more. I see books daily that I want to read through and soak up all of the wisdom that they can offer. I am currently working on one non-fiction and one fiction. The fiction book is a brand new Star Trek book that I want to dig into. And the non-fiction book is a professional book that I am very interested in. I must be intentional, but I want to get through both very quickly, because there are others waiting in the wings.
I agree with C.S. Lewis who reminds us of how tea and reading go together. Tea is a wonderful companion to a good book, especially if it stays hot. I began drinking tea in the mornings over Christmas as a way to reduce caffeine and to get out of the habit of coffee—when tea is so much more enjoyable. It is tough to switch if you are addicted to the caffeine. So, I cut out coffee all together for a while, and now only drink it on occasion—like my regular trip to Starbucks on Sunday night to read. While I enjoy coffee, there is something more that tea has to offer. Tea has a smoothness that coffee cannot match and tea has a warmth that is measured in happiness rather than degrees. So, reading while drinking tea is a must—there is nothing that makes me happier.
