Many times during my comic book life, I get backed up or I read through a series of books to get a view of the story. One of my main objectives for collecting comics is to understand and enjoy the storyline more. I have never been overly interested in the price of comics, except when the one I want is a little out of reach.
I collect for the stories. That is what means most to me. There are times that I will collect an entire group of comic books so that I may read them as one story, rather than bit and pieces over several months.
So what am I reading now?
Right now, I am backed up in my Superman/Batman collection. I got behind several months ago, and they kept getting pilled up–I began to make sure I read the ones that I only had one issue to read rather than four or five. Recently, I read Superman/Batman #41 and 42–which completed a particularly interesting arc about Superman’s battle with Darkseid. Probably today or tommorrow, I will get caught up by reading #43, 44, and 45.
I’m also holding onto two comic book series–that I need to read before next weeks shipment on Thursday-ish.  I’m looking forward to reading both of them, I’m just waiting for the perfect time to read them.
First is the latest Batman crossover series. It includes comic books from Batman, Detective Comics, Robin, and Nightwing. It is titled “The Resurrection of Ra’s al Ghul”. I have no idea what the storyline is–actually have no information at all about it–but, I had to buy Robin and Nightwind books to make sure the story was complete–so I have waited toread it, until now.
The second is the important Amazing Spider-Man “One More Day” cross-overs and “Brand New Day” (#s 546-548) series. I’ve been waiting to really get inot this one–got a little hung-up on waiting for the cross-over books to get here.
That’s what I’m reading now. I’ve got to get it done this week because I get an entirely new stack on Thursday.
With Comic Books you never run out of good things to read–just time to read them.Â
