I found this new book at Books-A-Million but I didn’t buy it.
Today was Comic Book Day–what a wonderful experience this day is. Comic Book Day is a day of mystery and of adventure. OK, I maybe making more out of it than I should, but it is a wonderful day. The day represents a time for me to go and get the latest from my pull box, to get supplies (which I am really going through lately), and to enjoy some time shopping.Â
There is a Panera Bread close to Rick’s Comic City in Madison, so I always try to stop in there. And there is a Books-A-Million, where I saw the novel, It’s Superman, by Tom De Haven. I didn’t buy it because I didn’t want to read a book without pictures today.
I did, however, pick up my pull list at Rick’s Comic City. I was a little disappointed that the where only two books out, but that’s the way it goes. Today’s pull box included Superman/Batman Annual #1 and Action Comics #844. I also bought the latest Wizard Magizine and Mary Jane Loves Spiderman #11–for the Guiding Light story.
Comic Book Day gives me a chance to think of the utterly unimportant world of flying aliens and cape crusaders. Amongst all of the issues we have in life, everybody needs to get away somehow.
