I downloaded a new book yesterday. I saw it on Amazon and I am very interested in the author’s thoughts about social media and the church. But, in order to read the book, I must make time for it. Over the last two years, I have read and listened to over 50 books. This year, I am no more than ten minutes from work and the work is a school—so, I’ll be reading many books, just for work’s sake. But, I still desire to keep up with my personal reading. So what three books am I looking forward right now?
The Accidental Creative is an interesting look at becoming someone who is always able to produce creative and extraordinary results. I have been listening to the author’s podcast for a couple of years and have already read his second book, Die Empty. I keep hearing good information contained in this book, so I need to sit down and read it all.
The Social Church addresses how the church can use social media to reach the world and touch lives. It is the only book written about specifically the church and social media, so I am interested in how the author describes the relationship. I believe that it is critical that the church begins to engage meaningfully through social media.
Enterprise: The First Adventure is the untold story of Captain Kirk’s first mission. If you read this blog regularly, you will know that I have been wanting to read this book since I saw it in May. But, I think that fact simply illustrates the struggle I am having right now with reading.
I have good news regarding reading, however. I am starting to get more in a regular schedule in this new house, so maybe I’ll be able to go after all of these books soon!
