I ran into the commissary this evening for a quick purchase when I saw a new display of Ahmad Tea of London. Occasionally, as the fall progresses, the Army Commissary begins to sell this particular brand of tea. For years, I have only been able to purchase the tea from the commissary. Recently, I noticed, they have begun selling in the United States through the website ahmadteaus.com.
I have loved the taste of Ahmad Tea since my first taste of it in the 1990s. I received a tin of the tea as a small gift for Christmas. I loved it so much I even wrote the company to see where I could purchase the tea in the United States. The company wrote back an apology letter that there was nothing available in the United States. I was able to find it occasionally at the Army commissary during Christmas. I was overjoyed when I found it in the commissary again today. Then, as I was preparing to write this post, I discovered that the tea was now available in the United States. Now, I know where my tea budget will go in the future.
I have found, after drinking many different varieties and brands of tea, that Ahmad’s is probably the smoothest tasting tea available. There is something very elegant about the tea itself and it is matched unapologetically by the tins where the tea bags are stored. I am looking forward to tomorrow’s tea to enjoy as well as the many more times in the future.
