This week of adventure began with chapel on Sunday morning. The first Sunday of December begins the Christmas season. The front of the chapel included a new welcome slide to invite people in to worship during this next month.
Tuesday morning, as we do every weekday morning, was started at 0630 with our morning PT (Physical Training) formation. It is winter, so every Soldiers wears his or her cap and gloves, jacket and pants.
On Wednesday evening, I spent some time writing in one of my favorite restaurants. It was an enjoyable night, but it kept me out later than usual.
Our section Christmas Party and Farewell dinner occurred on Thursday before people began taking Christmas leave trips and one KATUSA Soldier begins to out-process the unit. I was blessed to receive a wonderful Seoul Starbucks mug from my Secret Santa. It was a heartfelt gift from another KATUSA who knew I would need to have that mug before I left Korea in the Summer.
Enjoying our quarterly KATUSA led training day-where our KATUSA Soldiers teach us a little bit about Korea, we visited the Seoul City Wall. The city wall surrounds the ancient city of Seoul and gives beautiful views of the city down below. The temperatures were in the twenties as we began our day, but warmed up as we climbed the mountain wall built in the 1390’s. This was a rare experience that we enjoyed, thanks to the planning of our Korean KATUSA Soldiers. It was a great way to end the week.
