Moving right along into November, this week was a week marked by colder mornings but still warm enough to get out. These are the photos I caught along the way:
I began the week on Sunday going to the commissary. The commissary is the Army version of a grocery store. Our commissary is rather small, but understandably so—there are not very many people here to serve. I do find it funny, however, that on the frozen food aisle the commissary offers ice cream and mops—and one Instagram follower pointed out that they also have donuts on the same aisle! There is something for everybody on this aisle!
Tuesday was a cold day, so I was drinking warm drinks all day. Thankfully, I had recently picked up a Korean brand of Peppermint tea.
On Wednesday night, I was able to enjoy “Steak Night” at the CG’s Mess. Occasionally, the CG’s Mess will open for a dinner meal. Some people order the steak menu, but I enjoy the regular DFAC meal available. I arrived early so as I waited for others to arrive, I snapped a photo of the seating area.
On Thursday morning, everyone on post kept tabs on the Seventh Game of the World Series. I arrived at work at 0900, and the game had just begun. I went in and out of meetings and the game played on. I stopped into my room for lunch and watched the eighth and ninth inning. Once I walked to work, the game continued through the tenth inning. We all stood and watched the final out that allowed the Cubs to break the curse and win their first World Series in 108 years.
After work on Friday, I walked to the light rail to go shopping. As I was waiting for the train to arrive I took a photo of the city of Uijeongbu. I think it is a fascinating city because it naturally incorporates the old rural life amongst the modern.
