After the great start to the series in Green Lantern 1-3, I was a little disapointed with this second arc, or maybe just the conclusion.
There are some themes which are helpful in understanding Hal Jordan that are adressed in this issue.
The issue touches on Jordan’s relationship with his Mother. She didn’t want him to fly. And I think that effects who he is. The other theme that has reoccurred enoung in the previous 5 books that is important is the distruction of Coast City. I wasn’t in the comics scene when the city was destroyed, so I don’t have a first hand knowledge of the events. However, I gather that Coast City was Hal Jordan’s home growing up and that definately affects him. I think that we will see more with this as the series goes on.Â
