Every morning, I like to walk down stairs and spend some time by the fire.
This is the first house that we have been able to have a working fireplace since we’ve been married; and I have used it regularly. There I read my Bible in the morning, sit and read with my son, or simply just sip a cup of coffee while the rest of the house sleeps. It is a wonderful time and place to sit.
I’m not very comfortable if I am cold, so the fire warms the room on a colder than normal winter’s night–it is El Paso after all. The fire also provides a nice glow to the room which gives an air of peace. I am often remind of the camping trips I have taken and those morning’s that I wake up and rekindle the fire that was extinguished the night before. There again is a nice place to sit and warm up before the sun rises.
I consider the fireplace a luxury. Sometimes it is a hindrance to other things that need to be done. But, honestly, it is definitely more important to sit by the fire for just a little longer.
