The first week of July meant that it was my last week in Korea. On Monday, I enjoyed my first Taco Bell Mexican Pizza in months. I was staying at Camp Casey during the week as I finished up my tasks before PCSing to a new post.
Tuesday night, I was able to stop by the Ediya Coffee stand after a day of work. The coffee shop was also in the bus stop for Thursday, so it was a good recon for the middle of the week.
Wednesday, was the day I signed out of the unit. It was a beautiful sunny day as I walked past the Division Headquarters for the last time.
Thursday, was a very long day. I started the day at 2AM on a bus to the airport which then took me toward my flight. We left at 2am on Korean time—which is 14 hours different from Kansas City and my final destination. After a slight delay, we were able to board the plan to Seattle.
We flew for roughly 14 hours and then, after a layover in Seattle, we had another three hours to finish out the flight. At about 1130pm, I got off the plane and was finally reunited with my family. It was a long 36 hour day, but it was worth it to see my family.
Today, I enjoyed a day recovering from jet lag and spending time with the kids. It as a great day to unwind.
