Returning the first week after my leave, I hit another milestone of month number eight of my twelve-month tour in Korea and separation from my family. While the tour has been rewarding, the leave period gave me a strong reminder of who I have waiting on my return.
It was fitting then that I began the last part of my tour, in chapel. On Sunday, I attended chapel the very next morning after my return with very little jet lag. It was good to get the second part moving by focusing on why I am here in the first place.
Tuesday was the last day of February, or month number seven. Monica send me this calendar to help me look forward to returning home. We take a lot of family selfies and the calendar is a selfie a month.
On the first day of March, I tried for a short moment to change up my button arrangement on my controlled. But, quickly, I discovered, that even with video games it is too hard to teach and old dog new tricks. I returned to my regular button arrangement.
Thursday, on my way to a meeting, I passed one of the funniest signs here at Camp Red Cloud. It is there, of course, for a good reason, and because someone in the last fifty years needed this warning. The golf course is adjacent to the helicopter landing zone and one of the holes shoots directly toward that direction.
My week ended with an enjoyable outing with our office staff for lunch. We went out to lunch at a local Chinese place and ordered a favorite dish. Spicy noodle soup and black noodles. (Jjamppong and Jja jang myeon) It was a wonderful treat to finish off the week.
