Sometimes, we as humans miss the point. We think that everything revolves around us and our wants and our dreams. We could not be more wrong. Colossians 1:16 says; “For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities-all things were created through him and for him.” (Colossians 1:16, ESV)
While God is a loving God, he is still the God of the Universe. I hear people tell me that they don’t believe in a God, specifically, that would send people to hell. First of all, it really doesn’t matter what we think to be true. The Bible clearly states that there is a hell. I don’t understand all of the reason—I am not God. But, the fact that we do not believe does not change the fact that something is or is not true. The truth is that God created all things.
Our response? It is our response to accept his gift and follow him. It is that simple. If you see a bus moving in your direction, you move off the street. If you are a person who has never accepted Christ, it is important that you understand that God is in control and in charge of what happens from day into day out. That same God who loves you and gave you free will, also died in our place so that we would not have to pay the penalty for our sin. He paid it in our place. Yes, there is a hell—it is the punishment for violating God’s law. But, God loved us so much that he died on a cross in our place.
He is God. He is the God of the Universe. He made everything—”all things were created through and for him”. He is God. Our response is to graciously accept his payment.
