I was in the PX earlier this month, when the headline of time magazine read “Can Google Solve Death?” I was reminded of a sermon that I had recently read that was focused on Hebrews 9:27:
And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:
It seems that we have tried to wish away the judgement…now we believe we can end death. Sadly, neither is possible. We will all die and we will all be judged.
If you were to die tonight, how would you be judged?
On your good works? The Bible says that “all of us are sinners and have fallen short of the glory of God.” (Romans 3:23)
The Bible also tells us that the payment for this is death–this is how we will be judged; but adds that the gift of God is life through Christ Jesus! (Romans 6:23)
As you reflect on this, I ask you to consider your eternity and your judgement.
God loves you and wants you to turn to him today.
Will you?
