I used to work in the Holiday Inn Express in Greenville, SC. While I was there, I heard several Myths that still make me wonder if they are really true.
1. Don’t put your room key next to you credit card because the credit card will erase the room key–really? Ok, so I probably told a couple of guests this when I forgot to program there card correctly…but I heard it somewhere.
2. If you hang up your shirt in the bathroom while you shower it will be pressed in the morning. I still do this. It doesn’t take all ofthe wrinkles out but it helps with T-shirts.
3. You can make a reservation for any Holiday Inn hotel at the front desk of any Holiday Inn. Not really. Now, I’ve been out of the business for about five years–so technology has probably improved. However, back then–it was too much of a hassle. I en tried it a couple of times–but got blocked out of rooms, so wound up calling the hotel and handing the phone over the desk anyway.
I can’t think of any more–but will undoubtably think of moe later. But tere are some myths out there–try them next time you are in a hotel. Gie ita shot–just don’t put your credit card and key together-it could be bad.
