There is a mythical creature in every Army unit—sometimes it seems to be an evil force using our own good ideas against us—The Idea Fairy.
The Idea Fairy flies in a drops “good” ideas on people and tempts the people to take a “good” idea…and even—if possible, make those ideas “better”.
The Idea Fairy only look all cute and cuddly—but idea fairies MUST be killed—otherwise, you are doomed to go down a road of distraction and complexity. Life would be much easier if you broke it down and kept it simple.
- Satan or Lucifer is described as the most beautiful angel…just like the Idea Fairy.
- Satan is described as the great deceiver…just like the Idea Fairy.
- Satan is also described as the “Father of Lies”…sounds a lot like the Idea Fairy.
Do I wish to kill good productive ideas? No. However, when people add things for no other reason, but because it is a “good idea”—following through with the good idea probably isn’t. There is a time to hash out good ideas, during the “Brainstorming” stage…but beyond that stay with the plan.
Kill the idea fairies.
