In Seth Godin’s blog, he wrote the comment:
(T)he way to get in shape is to go to the gym every single day, change your clothes and take a shower. If you can do that every single day for a month, pretty soon you’ll start doing something while you’re there…
It made me think…Is this concept transferable to the church?
We have people week after week showing up to churches across the country…but are they doing anything?
When I go to a fitness center—I want to work out. I may not when I’m there—but I definitely think about it. The entire atmosphere is focused on motivating you to do SOMETHING!
There are people lifting weights, swimming, running, or participating in a class. The TVs are all turned to ESPN. The music is high energy. The all people all around working out…losing weight…getting stronger…staying in shape.
What kind of atmosphere do we have in our churches?
Does it motivate you to “do something while you’re there?”
