I have never had a post to go completely viral, but I have watched some posts and YouTube video do just that—go viral. After one post, a site can go from 50 likes to over a million. This is the kind of viral-ness that one can completely lose control and lose track of how fast the “likes” are moving up. This is the definition of viral. Honestly, as much as viral-ness is studied and mimicked, Viral-ness cannot be reproduced. It is a once in a million opportunity that just happens. Everything is in the right place at the right place in the right way.
In the book of 1 Kings, King Solomon was bringing the Ark of the Covenant into the newly built Temple. The people of Israel was worshiping God and praising him. And this worship went viral. The Bible says, ” And King Solomon and all the congregation of Israel, who had assembled before him, were with him before the ark, sacrificing so many sheep and oxen that they could not be counted or numbered.” (1 Kings 8:5 ESV) The people of Israel began to worship in such a way that the Priests lost track of all of the sacrifices that were being made!
When was the last time that you lost track of your worship? When was the last time that you gave without thinking about the cost? When was the last time you prayed without thinking about the time? When was the last time you allowed the worship of God to go viral in your life?
When something goes viral—it cannot be explained. But, it is a mixture of having everything in the right place, at the right time, and in the right way. If you desire worship to go viral in your life, start by making your life a life of worship—looking for opportunities to reach out to the Holy Spirit in a new and fresh way.
