As spring approaches, I beginning to think more and more about baseball. One of the greatest things I enjoy about modern baseball is the MLB.tv subscription and the MLB At Bat App. I enjoy having access to baseball games where ever I am, whatever country I’m in, or even whenever I want. There are some things I would love to see upgraded, however, that would make my baseball viewing life complete.
The first thing that I would add to the MLB.tv subscription is to add the MLB Network TV as a streaming option. Yes, I understand that it is there, but you must have a cable subscription. Interestingly, I do have a subscription but since I’m in Korea, it’s out of market, so I don’t have that either. But, because of different circumstances, I don’t always have a cable subscription, so it would be nice to have this stream available-particularly during the off season and when there are no games during the day. It is the least they could do! I know, I’m not the only one that has voiced this, and I also know that there are some contract deals in place—but it sure would be nice to remember the next time they make a deal like that.
Another thing that I would add is Archived Audio. It is amazing to me that they pulled this off. Maybe because it wasn’t being used enough to justify. But, really, baseball has its roots in radio. I would love to hear the games of old played once again in a stream. In this day of podcasting and streaming music, this is another change that could be made to make the subscriptions better.
Finally, I ask that they make MLB Tonight available on Demand. Yes, it is the flagship show of the MLB Network. But, if you guys can’t stream it live—can you at least make it available for a couple of days on demand? I’m Korea, I don’t see anything live anyway! It sure would be nice to keep up with the off season talk or the on-season analysis.
These are my suggestion for a better subscription of MLB.TV. Luckily, they still have all of the 2016 season games available and before long, we will begin to see Spring Training. So, I really can’t complain. I maybe just ready for spring.
