I think this is mainly an American problem, but…Have you ever fixed a cup of tea from Celestial Seasonings or another tea brand (possibly lucky enough to have a true British tea) that doesn’t have a string on the tea bags? And did you face the dilemma of not knowing how to get the tea bag out? Do you use a spoon? Then how do you get your sugar? Do you use another spoon? Well, then you have to wash it…every time…for each cup of tea. What is an American tea drinker to do?
I heard once that you could use a set of small tongs to take them out. So I ordered one. The only one I found was too big and kinda looked goofy so I really only used it when I made a pot of tea. But, then, I was able to find a little one here in Korea which perfectly meets my need.
Now that I having been using these tongs for about six months, I found a pair about the same size on Amazon. These little tongs add a nice touch to making tea as they reach in and pull the tea bag out and leave virtually no mess. For whatever reason, this little tool makes all of the difference in the world when I make tea without tea strings. I can rinse it and set it aside for my second cup.
So, if you have ever wondered how to get your tagless tea bag out of the tea cup, give this little tool a try!
