(from Superman #693)
The Military is all over the comic books–be it the heroes or the evil rogue General. So why can’t the artists get it right?
Being a member of the US Military, I take he wear of the uniform very serious and I get a nervous twitch if I see it done wrong. But all too often it is not only done wrong–but way wrong.
Take the photo of General Lane, for instance:
He’s wearing his Headgear inside. (I understand this is to distinguish him as Military–this is a minor violation.)
He’s got some crazy ribbons on the Right side of his jacket.
He’s not wearing any patches on his shoulders. (Granted the new blue uniform does not use patches, but this is still the green uniform.)
These are small details–to the civilian. However, if these artists are going to work so hard at the art they are putting on the page isn’t the work worth it to take five minutes to Google General Petraeus and see what right looks like?
