This week’s pick of the week is unsplash.com.
I began using unsplash.com this December after talking to my wife about having a hard time finding images for my posts. I like to have an image with every post—but finding a fresh photo is difficult, unless you have a nice budget to bring in photos from istock.com. Monica referred me to unsplash.com, where, after I signed up, I had access to more than enough photos to supplement the photos I may take myself or find specifically for a particular blog post.
The top reason I recommend unsplash.com is because it is free. Completely free. The first page of the website says: “Free (do whatever you want) high-resolution photos.” Free is always nice—but many times online, the prices is paid by hassling through a series of ads to get to the offered free photos. These photos are completely free—monetarily and hassle free.
The second reason I recommend unsplash.com is that the photos are amazing! If you look through the photos that I have written since January 2015, you will see on many of the posts that the photo came from unsplash.com. You will also be able to see how amazing these photos are. I think the license allows for any sharing, but I post something without giving credit—but with these photos, it gives me an opportunity to share them with the world.
The final reason that I pick unsplash.com is because they add new photos every ten days. So I will never get to point where I need a photo without it being in the gallery. These new photos are of the same quality, or better, than those from the very beginning. I appreciate having new photos added and old ones still available.
So, if you are looking for a place to add more photos to your blog, project, or even meme—checkout unsplash.com!
