I finished reading the Power Girl graphic novel, early last week. I enjoyed the story outlining a potentially very important member to the DC Universe. I really enjoyed how the writers, or in this case the editors, combined all of the original story lines from the original comics into one book. Not only did it show the development of such an interesting character, but the development of comic writing and art as well.
The first several chapters, were my favorite, as they republished the earliest account of Power Girl’s origin.   I was amazed how the story has come full circle, back to original intent of Power Girl asSuperman’s cousin on Earth2. I’m not sure I understand that second origin story–that was really messed up! I enjoyed seeing that the original story has been preserved. I was suprised to see that they mentioned Earth2 in this comic, I didn’t know that they were writing about Earth1 and 2 at the time..it seems like it was several years before “Crisi on Infinate Earths.” But, maybe I’m wrong.Â
I enjoyed reading this comic and being exposed to this crucial character–I understand–to the “Infinate Crisis” story.Â

The early stories did take place well before the original Crisis. I believe they are going to do a trade paper-back of the 70s All-Star comics, which told the story of the Justice Society and introduced Power Girl. If you are able to get that book, or reprints of All-Star, I’d recommend picking it up.
