While I missed two days of practice, even on such a week, I see that I am getting a little better at Call of Duty each day.
On Thursday, I knew that I would be not able to play for Friday through Sunday Morning. So, I played Multiplayer online on Thursday night to build up my score. Through several different scenarios I saw that my game had improved slightly. I spent the majority of the week playing 30 minutes a day against Regular level bots with no additional weapons except for the gun I was using. This drill is helping me learn how to shoot better in the game—particularly when I am being attacked at the same time. Patience is key, as well as not taking the game too seriously. Having the presence of mind in the game is half of the battle I am having, second only to gun control.
While my PS4 was downloading and installing the latest update to COD:BO4, I took some time to play three rounds of COD: Infinite Warfare. Infinite Warfare was where I spent my time on while I was in Korea, so I am very familiar with the maps of that game. I was surprised at how rusty I was at that game after focusing my attention for the last two months on Black Ops 4. I got crushed at first. But as I got used to the feel of the game, I brought my KIA/D ratio back up to were it is on Black Ops 4–which is about 0.55.
These little drills are helping me become a better player, but also and more importantly allowing me to have more fun with a game I love.
