In the last several years of running road races I have seen different variations of how race photos are handle and I tip my hat to the different race planners in Kansas City who provide these digital photos as an added benefit to the participant.
I ran the Four on the Fourth Four Mile Race this past Independence Day with my daughter, Elizabeth Anne. This race was her sixth race this year and her longest race to date. We started doing 5K races on Halloween is 2015 and have enjoyed the time together preparing for the race and running the races together. It is such a blessing to have had a photographer available for nearly every race and the fact that these digital photos were provided free. I love to look back at these photos and enjoy remembering the moments that I was able to spend with my daughter. To see and relive her smile as we cross the finish line is priceless.
Before I lived in Kansas City, most of the races that I ran provided a photographer, but required a steep payment to download. Yes, I understand capitalism, so it is the race planners option whether or not to use this payment system as their photo option. I never paid for those photos because they were too expensive. The race planners that provide the photos free have really been a blessing too me, whether I am running with my daughter or alone. These are the races that I look forward to running again in the future.
