As I write this, I am sitting in the USO at Camp Casey, Korea accessing the free wifi while I type this out on my iPhone. I arrived in country on Thursday, July 7 2016 and I am in the process of getting acclimated and established.
I hope to have my own wifi connection through a personal hot spot. Until then, I’ll be using borrowed connections as I find them. Thankfully, the USO–provided by generous donations–give me some opportunity to log on to wifi.
In the past three days, I arrived in Seoul, got four different immunizations (including small pox), transported to Camp Casey, and set up my local phone account (this was a little more of a challenge than I thought it would be, but T-mobile helped me out).
This morning as I waited for this bus, I was able to pause and enjoy the beautiful scenery here as I looked out toward the mountains. It is a blessing to be here. Yes, I am beginning to feel the effects of being separated from my precious family, but I am comforted by the fact that I am following Gods call to provide religious support and opportunities to our US Army Soldiers as they stand ready to defend freedom of this beautiful land and people. Please continually keep them in your prayers.
