I know this may not be the biggest idea that you’ve heard of–but thankfully Midtown Comics invented the self-stick comic book board and bag.
There was a time several years ago, when I bought comic books from a local comic book shop, I would receive my new comic books in my pull list in a bag. I would spend more money and time on bagging and boarding evey comic book in my collection. When I moved to Germany and began receiving my comic books in the mail, I was opening the self-stick bags from Midtown Comics. Not a big deal? It isn’t until you have to pull scotch tape from plastic in order to read the comic book in front of you.
When I first received the first package, I was apprehensive about the bags–because of the seals–I was afraid that the bags would be messed up by it. Now, I am nearly offended if I walk into a store without the book bagged and boarded. It is so important to me that each book it protected and the self-stick bags are much easier to use than finding the tape, cutting the tape, sealing the tape–only to open the tape and mess up the bag.
It was a little thing but through the years, I am so thankful that I don’t have to deal with the hassle of traditional bags and boards.
