One of my favorite animated TV shows is “The Justice League Season One and Two”, I’ve watched them all on DVDs. I began watching the series on Cartoon Network with “Justice League Unlimited”. I really enjoyed the series, when I could watch it, so I was happy to see them on DVD. I am enjoying watching them through the years they have been available on DVD.
The series however, is not without its questions. Even from the first episode, I asked the question; Since when does Wonder Woman fly? Doesn’t she have an invisible jet or something? Or maybe I missed it, but she definitely does fly on the show. She didn’t fly in the “Superfriends”, but she does now–what’s up with that?
On the second season, she flies with Batman in tow–on some other planet. Some things always surprise me. Why do the writers have to change what has worked well for so long? The invisible jet is as much a part of her character as her lasso and bracelets. Are they going to make her fly in the movie too? Not to sound like I’m feeling threatened, but Superman flies…Wonder Woman does not…Batman does not. Green Lantern does because of his ring. Hawk girl does because of her wings. Martian Manhunter does because…well all Martians fly–but even if they don’t, who would know better.
So why does Wonder Woman fly? I don’t like it when they mess with the standard story line.
