There is so much going on in my life.
It’s kind of crazy because the more I cut back the the more I’m interested in other things. Recently I’ve begun to hike the mountains that surround my home.I’ll put pictures of those up later.
I’ve also been able to swim laps more. At the same time I am still working on my FEMA courses. And I’m relearning to play my trombone. I’m also trying to write more. But I also have comic books to read and genealogy research. All the while I have baseball cards to sort catalog and maybe, if I’m lucky, to sell.
It just seems like the more I cut out, the more I want to do. The more my schedule gets free–the more energy I have to try new things. It almost is as if it works the other direction. As I get balanced, the more opportunities present themselves.
This doesn’t mean that I am cutting back at work. I am doing more, and more things efficiently, then, I believe, I have ever done before. One of things that of help that is the book “Getting things done” by David Allen. That book and the companion website; nozbe.com Have revolutionized the way I work, play, and all around live my life.
Is it an exciting time to live. There’s so much to do so much to help my children experience. And so much more to share with you.
I look forward to writing more and more. In fact, this blog post was dictated on the WordPress app and my iPhone–Just to save time to do something else.

Thank you for your continued prayers and support. The real struggle we have is meet the needs of the many Soldiers and their families as we return to a garrison Army after ten years at war. We have very good leadership in the Chaplain Corps to guide us through times of change. Thank you again for your prayers.

I also want to offer some encouragement to you. My family has been praying for you and the other Chaplains. We track the struggles you guys are facing through the Chaplains Alliance, AFA, and the Family Research Council. I know it’s a tough time for you guys right now but you have a faithful group of brothers and sisters that are praying for you and working to apply pressure to our Congressmen and Senator to ensure you have full right of conscience.

Thank you Dennis! I’ve never heard of Omni–It looks like a good package. I’m not a big Evernote user. I would probably use it more, but I don’t have a specific use for it and in some places and some uses (particularly uploading information) the Army blocks it from the computer networks makes it difficult to use. Whether it is Omni or Nozbe–GTD principles are critical to reducing stress and empowering efficiency. Thank you again–it’s good to hear from you!

Chaplain Andrews,
I recently started using the GTD methods after reading David’s book and it really does help with being more efficient. I’m using a combination of OmniFocus and EverNote.
I have been a dedicated EN user for a couple of year but, adding GTD and OmniFocus has been a game changer. I’m not sure if Nozbe can be used with EverNote but it would be worth a look. Here is the the link to a video I found when I was researching GTD software by a college student in Germany. He does a great job of showing the practicality of combining the two.

You can also find some really good articles on the Asian Efficiency website. http://www.asianefficiency.com/omnifocus/
Since OmniFocus and Nozbe are both built on GTD principles they can’t be too far apart.
Have a blessed week and thank you for your spiritual leadership with the troops.
