The seventh day of flight bring another space walk to occur about 1530 Baumholder time (0935 EST). Watch it on NASA- TV.
In the podcast/interview given on day six, Steve Frick–Commander of STS 122 said this:
We spend a lot of time practicing, a lot of practice approaches, all have well over 1,000 by the time we get to do it for real. So it’s an interesting task, but we get a lot of practice for it.
Lately, statements such as this have really hit home. I’ve seen them from Chris Angel and from MTV’s Made. People like to belive that we get lucky to do things well. If you have become an expert, people think that God just gave you that ability–and He did, but only to a point. I believe that we can do basically anything that we want to do–if we would only put our mind to it. God given talents help, but we can do anything if we work hard enough to do it. But it takes work and rehearsal–over and over and over.
