I walked to school one day this week. The wind was around 25 miles an hour and was gusting to 35! I was also running late. I had to cross a couple of hills. And it was warmer that day than normal. I was determined, however, to try to walk to work that day. I made it to work, but I was exhausted the rest of the day.
Do you ever feel like just getting up in the morning is like an uphill battle? It seems like everything is blowing the opposite direction from where you want to go—your marriage, your family, progress at work, and progress with your health. It is very much like my walk to work, but much, much worse. These are the times when we turn to the Bible and read;
“But (Jesus) said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me. For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am strong.” (2 Corinthians 12:9-10, ESV)
At our weakest times in life, that is when Jesus rests upon us. His grace is sufficient for us to see us through. So, on those days that you are suffering, look to him and trust in him and he will see you through.
